The Price of Yes

« But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. »

James 1:22 (ESV)

What it says

We love to listen to the Word of God, to pray, and to feel His presence. It's wonderful! But sometimes, faith is not lived out only in good feelings. It requires a precise step, a clear "yes" to a specific calling. This "yes" has a price, and that's where true obedience manifests itself.

The Call to a Concrete “Yes”

God doesn't always speak to us about great things. Sometimes, He whispers a simple task. He asks you to call that person, to forgive someone, to mend something. It's not a vague idea, but a clear instruction for your daily life. It's a call to action.

Often, we hear this voice. We know what God is asking of us. But a hesitation rises within us. This is where we must choose: will we simply *listen*, or will we *act* concretely?

What it asks of you today

Obeying isn't always comfortable. This "yes" can cost you time, energy, or even money. It might ask you to set your pride aside. It's agreeing to do what God asks, even when it disrupts your plans. It's a sacrifice of our own will.

The Bible tells us clearly:

> 1 Samuel 15:22 (ESV): “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice.”

God isn't just looking for our offerings. He's looking for a heart that says "yes" and acts. It's not always easy, but it's the path of growth.

One Step, One Transformation

Every time you say "yes" to a specific call, something changes. You grow in your faith and your trust in God. Your character is strengthened. You demonstrate your love for Him in a *concrete* and powerful way. It's like building a bridge, stone by stone.

This step of obedience opens doors. It prepares you for the greater things God has for you. Each small "yes" makes you more sensitive to His voice. You become a more available instrument in His hands. You advance with Him.

For Your Day

Today, reflect on this question: Is there a specific instruction God has given you recently, but which you have put aside? Whether it's forgiveness to offer, a word to say, help to give, or a bad habit to abandon. Take this *concrete step* this week. Put into practice what you have heard. Don't put off what God is asking you to do now.

- I am more than a conqueror in Christ, in the name of Jesus. - No weapon formed against me shall prosper, in the name of Jesus. - The Lord is my light and my salvation; I will fear nothing, in the name of Jesus. - I walk by faith and not by sight, in the name of Jesus. - All things work together for my good, because I love God, in the name of Jesus. - My mouth proclaims the praise of the Lord, in the name of Jesus. - Christ lives in me: I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, in the name of Jesus.

Today's prayer

Lord, I ask for forgiveness for the times I have hesitated to obey. I want to put Your word into practice. Give me the courage to say "yes" to the concrete instructions You give me. Help me to pay the price of this obedience, for I know that Your way is the best. May my "yes" be sincere and swift. In the name of Jesus,. In Jesus' name, Amen.
