Contextual discernment
How do I discern spiritual warfare when I dream of pursuit?
This angle exists only in the biblical reading. Here is the general reading of pursuit, with no religious reference.
General reading
Without any spiritual framing, being chased in a dream is one of the clearest anxiety dreams there is, and it almost always represents something in waking life you're avoiding rather than confronting — a conversation, a decision, a feeling, a responsibility. The identity of the pursuer matters less than your body's response: exhaustion, panic, or a strange calm. Being caught, contrary to instinct, often brings relief in the dream, because facing what you're avoiding is frequently less frightening than the running itself. A chase that ends with you turning to face your pursuer usually reflects real readiness to stop avoiding something. The useful question is not 'who or what is chasing me' but: what am I currently running from that would probably hurt less if I just turned around?
