The child is one of the tenderest and most demanding symbols in the Bible. Christ requires us to be like one to enter the Kingdom (Matthew 18:3), he identifies with the little ones (Matthew 18:5), and the Messianic promise itself takes the form of a child born (Isaiah 9:6). To dream of a child is almost never trivial: it is a word about a promise in seed, a calling that is growing, an innocence to protect, or sometimes a call to intercession for a real child.

Christ defends the little ones. If in your dream a child is threatened, forgotten, wounded, it is very often a call to intercession for a real child (in your family, your circle, a ministry). Ask the Lord for the name.

Children have direct angelic access. If in your dream a child speaks to you with wisdom too great for their age, listen — it is often a channel God uses to slip past your defenses.
You hold a newborn in your arms
Promise in seed. Often a calling, a project, a ministry beginning. Note the sex and the face — God sometimes gives very concrete clues.
You become a child again
Call to inner conversion. It is not regression — it is the invitation of Matthew 18:3. Lay down a burden of mastery.
A child speaks to you with wisdom
Prophetic channel. Note the exact phrase. God often chooses the smallest to confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27).
A wounded, forgotten, lost child
Urgent intercession. Ask the Lord for the name. Cover the person for 7 to 21 days with prayer. Also examine whether it is the inner child in you — the one you left alone.
You give birth without having been pregnant
A work God gives without visible preparation. Season of unexpected fruitfulness. Do not be ashamed of what looks out of the norm.
An unknown child comes to live with you
Mission of welcome. Sometimes literal (spiritual fatherhood, mentoring, foster care), sometimes symbolic (a gift God asks you to nurture).
Several children play around you
Season of fruit, of community, of teaching. Often received before a call to serve a group — Bible school, youth, extended family.
