Why do I dream of darkness since my conversion?

General reading
Without any spiritual framing, darkness in dreams is the mind's way of representing what's unclear, unresolved, or simply not yet knowable — a decision without enough information, a relationship whose direction you can't see, a period of your life where the next step hasn't shown itself yet. Being lost in the dark usually mirrors a real feeling of disorientation; a fear of something unseen nearby often mirrors anxiety about a threat you can sense but can't identify. Darkness that lifts, or a light you begin to make out, tends to appear when your unconscious is already working on a resolution before your waking mind has caught up. The specific fear matters less than the fact that fear in the dark is rarely about the dark itself — it's about not being in control of what you can't see. The useful question is not 'what is hiding' but: what decision or fear have I been avoiding because I don't yet have enough light to look at it clearly?
