Contextual discernment
How do I discern spiritual warfare when I dream of death?
This angle exists only in the biblical reading. Here is the general reading of death, with no religious reference.
General reading
Without any religious reading, dreaming of death almost never predicts anything — it nearly always represents an ending of some kind: a relationship, a job, an identity, a version of yourself you're outgrowing. The mind uses death as its most dramatic shorthand for closure, because waking life rarely gives us a clean ceremony for the things that quietly end. Dreaming of your own death often points to a phase of self-transformation already underway; dreaming of someone else dying usually reflects a shift in how that relationship functions in your life, not a literal fear for them. A funeral in a dream is frequently the mind's way of finally processing a loss you didn't get to grieve properly when it happened. The useful question is not 'is this an omen' but: what in my life has already ended, that I haven't yet allowed myself to mourn or release?
