Long fall, bottomless, into a precipice: examine your supports. Ask God where to place your trust.

Aller plus loin : falling dans les Écritures
Falling is one of the most universal dreams — and yet the Bible almost never treats a fall as fate. The righteous falls seven times and rises (Proverbs 24:16); Peter falls three times and becomes a shepherd again (John 21); even the original fall (Genesis 3) is followed by a promise (Genesis 3:15). To dream of falling is almost always to touch the question of support: on whom are you leaning, and what gives way when everything that held you outwardly fades?
Strates bibliques du symbole
Proverbs 24:16
« A righteous man may fall seven times and rise again. »
The fall is not defeat — it is the normal arithmetic of the righteous. If you dream of falling without breaking, or rising again, it is almost always a word of consolation: the Father counts the falls, but he also counts the risings.
Psalm 37:24
« Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him with His hand. »
The believer's fall is held. If in your dream a hand catches you, slows you, sets you down — it is a direct word: you are not in free fall, you are carried.
Luke 22:31-32
« Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail. »
Christ prays for falls to come before they happen. If you dream of an imminent fall, it is not to frighten you but to remind you that an intercession precedes you — yours and his.
1 Corinthians 10:12
« Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. »
The fall is also warning. If you dream of falling in a specific zone (top of a stair, public stage, mountain summit), examine the quiet pride that has settled there.
Scénarios concrets et leur lecture
You fall but a hand catches you
Promise of Psalm 37. A season of felt instability — the hand is more solid than the slab that gives way.
You fall long, bottomless, into the void
Diagnosis of support. Something you were relying on is revealed as hollow. Not to break you — to bring you back to the Rock (Psalm 18:2).
You fall and immediately get up
You already carry the grace of Proverbs 24:16. Continue — it is not the fall that defines you, it is the rising.
You fall from a roof, a summit, in public
Examination of the public place. A zone of exposure (reputation, ministry, image) is vulnerable. Not to shame — to humble under the mighty hand (1 Peter 5:6).
You slip on something that should not have been there
Discerned snare. The dream reveals an obstacle laid — someone's word, an installed thought, a wrong reading. The Lord shows so that you may avoid it awake.
You push someone who falls
Serious warning. Relational examination: whom are you pushing through your speech, your coldness, your judgment? Repentance possible.
Someone pushes you and you fall
Spiritual combat or betrayal to carry in prayer. Not a call to revenge — a call to entrust justice to the Just Judge (1 Peter 2:23).
Questions de discernement
1.Were you falling alone, or pushed by someone or something?
2.What height, what duration, what speed?
3.Was there a landing — hard, soft, miraculous, never reached?
6.On waking, does a zone of support (health, finances, relationship, identity) come to mind?
Prière étendue
« Lord, you know my falls better than I do. You know how often I have fallen without noticing, and how often you have raised me without my seeing it. Teach me not to fear the fall, because your hand is faster than my slip. If in this dream you have shown me a support that gives way, I let it go now — wealth, approval, performance, control — and I hold to you alone, Rock of my salvation. If you have shown me that I am pushing someone, forgive me and restore what my harshness has weakened. And if someone pushed me, I place this injustice in your hands, not keeping it in mine. In the name of Jesus, who fell under the cross to lift me, amen. »

Note pastorale
Recurring falling dreams often accompany seasons of transition (job loss, grief, breakup, change of ministry). If the fear remains strong on waking for several days, speak — to a shepherd, or to a professional if anxiety prevents sleep. The Lord does not want you to carry alone.
