Fire is probably the most misread of biblical dream symbols. We instinctively fear it, while God almost always claims it as his own language: the burning bush (Exodus 3), the pillar of fire (Exodus 13), Pentecost (Acts 2), the fire that tests each one's work (1 Corinthians 3:13). Dreaming of fire is almost always a word about intensity — God visiting, God purifying, or sometimes an enemy seeking to destroy. The context (who lights it, what burns, who walks out unharmed) decides the meaning.

The fire of Pentecost does not consume — it rests. If in your dream a flame rests on your head, your hands, your tongue without pain, it is almost always a word of anointing: God entrusts you with a word, a service, a public prayer.
Exodus 3:2
« The bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. »
The burning bush is the seal of presence: it burns without destroying. If you dream of an intense flame that leaves intact what it touches, do not fear — take off your sandals. The Lord is calling you to a place and probably a specific mission.

« Each one's work will become manifest; the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. »
Fire is also a sieve. If a precise area is burning in your dream (a book, a house, a project) without you being in danger, ask: what is God testing in my life? What remains after the fire is what is of him.
Jeremiah 20:9
« There is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones. »
There is an inner fire God lights that cannot be held back. If you dream of a blaze in you that wants to come out, it is often a word about your calling — something you have been holding back too long and the Spirit is asking you to dare.

Anointing of the Spirit for a word, a service, a gathering. Note the place and the faces: God often prepares a collective mission.
A house burning without you being in danger
A structure of your life (relationship, job, project) is under kind judgment. What was built in wood and straw falls; what was gold will remain.

Promise of Isaiah 43:2. A season of trial crossed under visible protection. Do not flee the heat — that is where God shows you to others.
A fire threatens your loved ones and you run to save them
Call to urgent intercession for a specific person. On waking, pray by name — God often entrusts a watchman ministry you carry in secret.
You light a fire that spreads gently
A revival you will be the starting point of — often a simple word, a testimony, an act of service that spreads further than you think.
Fire from heaven on an altar
Answer to a sacrifice (1 Kings 18). A long wait receives its seal. Do not discuss the answer — worship.
Black fire, thick smoke, painful burn
Clear warning. Seek pastoral counsel, examine words received, content consumed, ambiguous alliances. Break in the name of Jesus what has been lit against you.
