Contextual discernment
How do I discern spiritual warfare when I dream of lion?
This angle exists only in the biblical reading. Here is the general reading of lion, with no religious reference.
General reading
Outside of any spiritual reading, a lion in a dream almost always represents power — either power you possess and haven't fully claimed, or power that's confronting you from the outside. A calm lion that looks you in the eye without attacking often shows up when you're finally facing a source of authority or fear head-on instead of avoiding it, and finding it less dangerous than expected. A lion that chases you usually mirrors something you feel you can't outrun: a responsibility, a reputation, a consequence catching up with you. Riding a lion, or walking calmly beside one, tends to reflect a real sense that you've made peace with your own intensity or ambition rather than being ruled by it. The useful question is not 'is the lion a threat' but: whose strength — mine or someone else's — am I currently either running from or finally learning to stand in front of?
