Dreams run through all of Scripture — from Genesis to the Gospels. Here are three key passages that shape our approach.
Job 33:14-18
"For God does speak — now one way, now another — though no one perceives it. In a dream, in a vision of the night… he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings."
Dreams are one of the languages God uses when people stop listening.
Joel 2:28
"I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions."
Dreams are part of the Pentecost promise — they accompany the outpouring of the Spirit.
Matthew 1:20; 2:12-13
"An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, 'Joseph son of David, do not be afraid…'"
In the Gospels, dreams guide, protect, and shape concrete decisions — without ever replacing obedience to the Word.
Christian tradition has long recognised that dreams can come from three places: God (Joel 2:28, Job 33:14–18), our own soul (processing the day, Eccl 5:3), or spiritual interference. NOCTELY tries to gently name which is most likely — but always with humility.
