What the Bible Teaches About the Dead

The dead sleep, awaiting the resurrection (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). They do not return to communicate (Luke 16:27-31). All practices of spiritualism are forbidden (Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:10-12).

So What Does This Dream Mean?

Three biblically sound explanations:

A grief process — your soul is integrating the loss. This is healthy, natural, and expected.

A symbolic message from God using the image of the deceased to speak of an inheritance, forgiveness, or a promise to reclaim.

More rarely, a disguised spiritual intrusion. If the dream prompts you to forbidden practices (speaking to the dead, seeking advice), it is a clear sign.

How to Respond Righteously

Entrust the person to the Lord. Refuse any active communication. Discern any potential symbolic message. And if the pain persists, accept support.
