Biblical dream interpretation is not reserved for prophets. It is an accessible spiritual discipline, provided a few fundamental rules are followed.
Step 1: Write It Down Immediately
Dream memory dissipates in less than 5 minutes. Keep a notebook or your phone handy. Note everything: images, emotions, colors, words, presences.
Step 2: Pray Before Interpreting
Genesis 40:8: "Do not interpretations belong to God?" Interpretation is a gift, not a technique. Ask the Holy Spirit before any analysis.
Step 3: Identify Biblical Symbols
Water, fire, light, the serpent, the house, teeth… The Bible itself provides the symbolic vocabulary. Our glossary lists 40+ of them.
Step 4: Test by Scripture and Peace
An interpretation that contradicts Scripture is false. An interpretation that does not bring peace should be re-examined (Colossians 3:15).
Step 5: Await Confirmation
Do not rush into action. Many prophetic dreams are understood in retrospect. Write it down, pray, wait.
